    Kieran Barlow Nets Two as Chargers Defeat Highland Park in Season Opener

    HIGHLAND PARK, NJ - Senior Kieran Barlow found the back of the net twice to help the Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team take down Highland Park High School in the 2024-25 season opener. Spotswood scored one in the first half and two in the second to defeat the Owls 3-2.

    Cooper Day also scored for the Chargers in the victory. Alex Lagowski had two assists for Spotswood. Ryan Wong and Avyu Arvind scored the goals for Highland Park. Isaac Backenroth assisted on both of Highland Park's goals. Seamus MacKinnon made nine saves for the Owls. Dom Spicuzzo had five saves to earn his first victory of the season in goal.

    Spotswood is back in action on Monday when the team plays its home opener against Metuchen High School. Metuchen is 1-1 so far this season. Game time is at 4 p.m. at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field.
