    Boys Winter Track Team Honored with Championship Rings Prior to Friday's Football Game

    The 2024 NJSIAA North 2 Group 3 Boys Winter Track State Sectional Champions!

    RAHWAY, NJ —Prior to yesterday's varsity football game, the members of the Rahway High School (RHS) boys winter track team were honored and recognized for their accomplishments last winter, as they earned the title of 2024 NJSIAA North 2 Group 3 Boys Winter Track State Sectional Champions!

    Each boy was presented with some serious hardware, a championship ring.

    Head Coach Leon Bunion told TAPinto Rahway, “For those who may not be aware, the Winter Track State Sectional Championships began in 2008. Since then, the Rahway Indians have won an impressive 10 out of a possible 16 State Sectional Championships, tying Rahway for the most winter track state sectional titles in New Jersey history.”

    The team was led last season by the 2024 State High Jump Champion, Rolando Simpson, now a senior.

    Bunion, the other coaches, and RHS Acting Principal Dawe Peralta were all in attendance to celebrate the boys and present them with their rings.

    The championship team included Nigel Castlewood, Guius Dabney, Trevor Delapara, Marquis Diggs, Triston Driscal, Jorge Fernandez, Judah Garcia Phillips, Angelo Giuliano, Ryan Gourdet, Quashawn Haynes, Jaylin Jeffries. Aiden McKenna, Lawrence Morris, Joziah Ramos, Kyler Richards, Prince Rousseau, Jayden Shipley, Joel Simpson, Rolando Simpson, and Jayden Wesley.
