SOMERVILLE, NJ — Watchung Hills exploded with two goals in each half to take Somerville on Saturday, 4-1.

“A much better and complete performance from the team today,” said WHRHS head coach Estiven Benitez. “Our focus to start the season is developing a good structure and keeping our discipline defensively.  We have managed to allow only 2 goals compared to 5 goals last year in the opening 2 games.

We have a lot of confidence in the attack and have been creating plenty of chances, I am happy to see we are taking advantage of that with 7 goals in 2 games. We are excited about the wins but understand it is a long season and our focus is now on Bernards this coming Wednesday.”

Christopher Matos netted two goals for the Warrior and Charles Santos and Collin Willis each added one on assists from Kieran Jacobs and JP Fernandez.

Watchung Hills improves to 2-1 and next plays at Bernards on Wednesday.
