SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – Union Catholic legend Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who won two gold medals and broke her own world record in the 400 hurdles at the Olympics in Paris in August, returned to her alma mater on Tuesday for the unveiling of another Olympic banner highlighting her latest accomplishments.

It's been a big week for the New Jersey native, who was also honored in her hometown of Dunellen at Columbia Park, where she trained as a young athlete on an oval that is now called the Sydney McLaughlin Track. About 2,000 fans came out to meet the Olympic legend on Monday. McLaughlin-Levrone was joined by her parents, sister Morgan, brother Ryan, Union Catholic High School principal Sister Percylee Hart and track coach Mike McCabe, as well as numerous friends, fans, and politicians.
