FRENCHTOWN, NJ- Tuesday evening, the Sparta girls volleyball team headed south to face the Delaware Valley Terriers. The Spartans took down Delaware Valley 2-0 (25-11, 25-16) in a match that saw a majority of the roster get playing time.

In set number one, Sparta jumped out to a 7-1 lead, thanks to kills from Lea Tsamadias, Aralyn Saulys, Arielle Gomez and Sylvia Przydzial.

Speaking of Przydzial, the senior middle blocker was at the service line when the Spartans extended their lead to 11 points. She floated in three consecutive service aces, which left the Delaware Valley Terriers in the dust.

Senior Maggie Higgins got the call towards the end of the first set, and was a force at the net off the bench. Higgins turned away any ball that came her direction, and Sparta took the first set 25-11.

The second set started off similar to the first set. More players got to see action for Coach Jozefczyk’s squad.

A big service run early on gave Sparta a 11-3 lead, again with Przydzial working hard from the service line.

Senior Aralyn Saulys took care of finishing off the match, dropping in a service ace to put a bow on the win for Sparta.
