    Newton Field Hockey Shuts Out Vernon

    NEWTON, NJ – The Braves field hockey defeated the Vernon Vikings 3-0 at home on Tuesday.

    Newton started strong with two goals in the first quarter. Kaitlyn Harding netted two. Meadow D’Annibale assisted on the first goal.

    Jaclyn Vena, on the assist from Emma Trout, put the third point on the board in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.

    Keeper Abbie Paglia got the win with five saves. Ava Kithcart shared time in net, making one stop. The Braves tested the Viking goalie with 12 shots.

    Newton’s field hockey team has a record of 5-1. They will host Voorhees on Saturday morning.
