Cassidy will attend the National Convention of FFA (formerly called Future Farmers of America) in October to represent New Jersey in the Dairy Handlers career development event.

Annabelle Majorossy of Readington Township will serve as the 2024-2025 Alternate Hunterdon Dairy Princess . The county Dairy Ambassador team, made up of youngers people involved in dairy promotion activities, is Courtney Barlow, Dakota Mets and Cheyenne Young.

Cassidy, Annabelle and the court of ambassadors helped out at the Hunterdon County 4-H and Ag Fair held in August. As a promotion for the milk industry, they made and gave away some 410 free ice cream sundaes one afternoon.

Hunterdon County has selected a dairy princess each year since 1965, and is one of just a handful of New Jersey counties that still crown princesses annually. They make appearances at fairs, events, meetings and supermarkets to encourage the use of milk and dairy products, mentioning the health benefits and other advantages.

For many years the new princess was chosen during June, Dairy Month. It started out in 1937 as National Milk Month as a way to promote drinking milk. It was created to increase the use of dairy products when production was at a surplus, but over time developed into an annual tradition that celebrates the contributions the dairy industry has made to the world.

After the National Dairy Council stepped in to promote the cause, the name was changed to Dairy Month. It serves to both highlight the benefits of milk products and feature the hard-working dairy farmers.
