Barnegat Upstanders Honored for September

BARNEGAT - Superintendent Brian Latwis recently announced the winners of Barnegat's September UPstander awards.

This monthly award was started by the school district in September 2018. The Upstander initative encourages children to be the best versions of themselves, creating a positive community that lifts others up instead of putting them down.

The Upstander program gets its name because it is the opposite of being a  bystander.

These September 2024 UPstander recipients were recognized for the Bengal PRIDE character trait of benevolence:

• Abdul Holmes, BHS, 11th Grade
• Abisai Picaz Gonzalez, ROBMS, 7th Grade
• Jaxson Santos ROBMS, ACES
• Colin DiFelice, RLHS, 6th Grade
• Bradley Zinger, JTDS, 3rd Grade
• Lillyana Groeblinghoff, CSCS, 2nd Grade
• Ruby Tranz, LMDS, PreK
