PATERSON, NJ - The Passaic County Police Academy has donated two stand-mounted Smartboards to the Paterson and West Paterson Fire Departments as part of a recent classroom technology upgrade. Funded by a grant from the New Jersey Law Enforcement Officers’ Training Fund, the upgrade allowed the Academy to install new wall-mounted Smartboards in five classrooms, enhancing its training environment.

With the new equipment in place, the Academy deemed two older, yet fully functional, Smartboards as surplus.

“These Smartboards have been a valuable resource at the Police Academy for over ten years, and we’re thrilled to see them continue to serve our community,” Deputy-Director Commissioner Sandi Lazzara said. “By donating this equipment to our local fire departments, we’re not only maximizing the use of county resources but also strengthening the collaboration between public safety agencies in Passaic County.”

“This generous donation from the Police Academy will improve our training capabilities and ensure our firefighters have access to the latest tools for both instruction and on-the-job preparedness,” Paterson Fire Department Chief Alex Alicea said.
