Allegany's Shawn Dubin Returns to Majors

Allegany's Shawn Dubin, who returned to the major leagues with the Houston Astros on Tuesday,  pitched one inning Wednesday in the team's 8-1 loss to the Seattle Mariners.

Dubin was touched for three runs, but only one was earned. He struck out two Seattle batters and gave up two hits.

Dubin has been splitting time this season between the Astros and the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, Houston's Triple A affiliate. He has appeared in 30 game with Houston, posting a 1-1 record and 4.26 ERA. He also hs one save to his credit.

Dubin, an Allegany-Limestone Central High School graduate and former Olean Oilers star, was with the Astros earlier in the season. He appeared in nine games and had a record of 0-1 and a 6.59 ERA, He pitched 13 and two-thirds innings and struck out 13 batters.
