    Jackie Miller's Two-Goal Performance Lifts Phillipsburg Field Hockey to 4-2 Victory Over Ridge

    Sophomore Jackie Miller scored a pair of third quarter goals including the eventual game-winner to pace Phillipsburg High School past host Ridge, 4-2, in a Skyland Conference Delaware Division field hockey game on Tuesday.

    Jenna Narleski gave the Red Devils a 1-0 lead in the first quarter before senior Sophia Remian tied the score in the second quarter with her 14 th career goal on an assist from sophomore Avery Butler.

    The Stateliners (2-4-1 overall, 2-4 division), who won for the second straight game, then scored the next three goals of the game unassisted as Miller scored two times and freshman Emma Butler added her first career goal in the fourth quarter.

    It was Miller’s first two-goal game of her career. Junior goalie Jordan Nonnemacher made 17 saves for P’burg, which will try to extend its winning streak to three when it takes on Hillsborough at home on Thursday. The Raiders beat the ‘Liners 1-0 earlier this season.

    Katie McCaffery also scored for Ridge (5-4, 3-2).
