PATERSON, NJ - The Paterson Poetry Festival is celebrating its seventh year of bringing poetry to Passaic County on October 4  and October 5, both day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Over the past six years, the festival has welcomed poets from across New Jersey while creating a vibrant platform for local artists to share their voices.

Hosted by Word Seed Inc., the festival will be held at a new location—the historic Dey Mansion, located at 199 Totowa Road in Wayne. This picturesque setting, surrounded by colonial charm and beautiful gardens, promises to inspire attendees throughout the weekend, organizers said.

The festivities will kick off on Friday, dedicated to the voices of youth. In addition to the traditional Youth Poetry Contest, the day's events will feature performances by young poets, a youth poetry SLAM contest, free book giveaways, and “Lit Land,” an immersive experience designed for the youngest poets and writers. Families are encouraged to bring their young talents to this special day, providing them an outlet to express their creativity.

Saturday's programming will include a diverse lineup of featured poets, workshops for aspiring writers, and open mic opportunities for attendees to share their work.

The Paterson Poetry Festival is sponsored by the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners and is presented in partnership with the Friends of the Passaic County Parks, The Paterson Museum, and CavanKerry Press.

This event is part of Word Seed Inc.’s Paterson Poetry Month lineup, which offers a variety of poetry programming throughout October. For more information and to view the full schedule of events, visit www.patersonpoetryfestival.org and www.wordseedinc.org .
