SPARTA, NJ – Spartan field hockey earned another “W” when they defeated Wallkill Valley 2-0 on Wednesday. A highlight of the game was Sparta goalie Keara Hynes made varsity save number 100.

Hynes, a senior, stopped 11 Ranger shots in Wednesday’s game.

On offense, Emily Karpowich scored as time ticked down in the first period. Kaitlyn Moughrabie netted the second Spartan goal in the third frame on the assist from Elianan Intorrella.

Sparta’s record moves to 3-6. They will host Pope John on Monday at 4 p.m.
