PHILLIPSBURG, NJ-The Phillipsburg Land Use Board Thursday entertained two cases brought about by homeowners needing modifications and construction on the buildings located on their parcels. Both cases were represented by Attorney Bill Edelston of Phillipsburg who specializes in municipal land use matters. The first case heard for completeness was from Heraldo Ruiz of Phillipsburg whose previous home located at
88 Heckman St . was raised by an electrical fire last January . Ruiz's intent is to construct a two-family home on the property where he will occupy the first floor and a family member will live on the second story. The project will receive nearly a dozen temporary waivers next month to fulfill construction and associated requirements. However, use and bulk variances also are needed before the project is fully approved by the board. The second case involved the owner of 186 Hagerty Ave. and was approved by the board by resolution to construct a first-floor addition to their home for reasons of convenience.

Maybe they should make the first floor a pot shop to get approval!
