    Newton Boys Soccer Team Sweeps Past Vernon

    NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School boys soccer team swept Vernon 5-1 when they played them away on Thursday, September 26.

    The Braves scored two goals in the first quarter and three more goals in the second quarter. Chase Vince-Cruz scored two goals, Paul Reinhart scored one, JT Kurilko scored one and Nate Logan scored one.

    Reinhart had one assist and Shaun Blasak had two assists. Newton’s keeper, Anthony Romeo had seven saves. Offensively, Newton took 13 shots on Vernon’s goal.

    The Newton High School boys soccer team moves their overall record to 3-4 and their NJAC-Freedom record to 3-3. They will play away against Dover in a night game on Monday, September 30 beginning at 7 p.m.
