NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls soccer team tied 1-1 against Vernon on Thursday, September 26 playing on the Braves field.

Eevie Kankkunen put the Braves on the scoreboard with an assist from Avery Eigner. The Braves’ keeper Sophia May had 11 saves.

The Braves move their overall record to 4-4-2 and their NJAC-Freedom Division record to 2-2-2 as they look ahead to host the Kittatinny Cougars on Monday, September 30 in a night game under the lights at Palmer Field beginning at 6 p.m.
