Football: Bayonne Beats Paterson Eastside, 35-14

BAYONNE, NJ – Junior halfback Chance Fischer scored four touchdowns to lead Bayonne to a 35-14 football victory over Paterson Eastside on Friday night.

After Paterson Eastside (0-5) scored the game's first touchdown, Fischer scored on a 1-yard run with 3:56 left in the first quarter and Mike Tawfik kicked the first of his five extra points to tie the game, 7-7.

It remained 7-7 until Fischer scored a 30-yard touchdown on third-and-one with 4:13 to go in the third quarter as the Bees (2-2) took a 14-7 lead. Fischer's 51-yard TD run with 7:56 left in the fourth quarter made it 21-7.

Paterson Eastside cut the deficit to seven, 21-14, on a touchdown with 3:09 left, but Daryl Smith returned the Ghosts' kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown to put Bayonne back up by two TDs, 28-14.

Fischer's final TD was a 20-yard scamper with 1:38 left.
