Wayne Board of Ed Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent and Vice Principal at  Wayne Hills High School

WAYNE, NJ – During Thursday’s Wayne Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Mark Toback and President of the Wayne BOE Don Pavlak spent a moment welcoming two new members of the district’s administration: Dr. Lauren Kasmark will be the new Assistant Superintendent and Mary Ferrari will be a new Vice Principal at Wayne Hills High School.

“We're proud to recommend Dr. Lauren Karmark to the board of Ed to replace a valued longtime employee or assistant Superintendent Donna Reichmann who will be retiring at the end of October,” said Toback. “She went through a very rigorous interview process and emerged as a top candidate. With Board of Ed approval, we look forward to getting started with the transition plan that will help her enjoy a great start in the Wayne Township public schools.”

The board subsequently approved the recommendation along with Mary Ferrari as Vice Principal.

Toback spoke briefly about Dr. Kazmark’s career, saying that she “has a long and distinguished career as an educator.”

Kazmark has been the Director of Curriculum and Grants for the Hackensack School District for the past nine years and started her career as a special education teacher in Paramus.

“I would like to, on behalf of the board, welcome Mary Ferrari and Dr. Lauren Kazmark,” said Board President Pavlak. “Welcome to Wayne. You're coming to a great place, and a great administrative team. “We're always looking for a new set of eyes to look at everything a little bit different and see what we can do better.”

After the meeting, the board and administration held a small welcoming party with a special cake welcoming Dr. Kazmark. She cut the cake, as her unofficial first action with the school district after being approved by the board.
