PHILLIPSBURG, NJ - Despite the rain, Phillipsburg High School’s annual Youth Night continued, drawing over 500 local youth and coaches to the field on Friday night. The event, held during Phillipsburg's thrilling 42-35 win over Hillsborough, brought together young football players and cheerleaders from across Lopatcong Township, Pohatcong Township, the Steele Hill Bulldogs, and Phillipsburg’s Little Liners.
The stands were packed with proud families, watching as youth teams joined the Stateliners in the pre-game action and lined the field from goal post to goal post. Pohatcong sent 140 football players and 40 cheerleaders, Steele Hill contributed 125 players and 100 cheerleaders, and Lopatcong Panthers added another 100 football players and 100 cheerleaders. Phillipsburg’s own Little Liners showed up with 36 cheerleaders, bringing extra energy to the sideline.
Even the halftime show featured youth participation, with members of the Phillipsburg High School band taking the spotlight, creating a true community celebration.
