    Passaic Valley Hornets Defeat River Dell 2-0 in Field Hockey Showdown

    LITTLE FALLS, NJ - Passaic Valley's field hockey team secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory against River Dell on Friday. The win improved their record to 1-6 in the Northeast Field Hockey League (NEFHL) Liberty Division, while River Dell fell to 0-7.

    The Hornets showcased their offensive strength, with Lilliana Kalokitis scoring the first goal of the game. Deyanah Hamdan followed suit, adding another goal to solidify Passaic Valley’s lead. Both goals were complemented by assists from Ava Guarente and Adrianna Sabatino, highlighting the Hornets’ teamwork and strategic play.

    Defensively, goalie Mackenzie Taylor recorded eight saves, successfully thwarting River Dell's attempts to get on the scoreboard. The Hornets maintained control throughout the match, preventing their opponents from making any significant advances. River Dell's goalie, Charlie Hart, faced a barrage of shots, totaling 11 saves but ultimately unable to stop both of Passaic Valley's goals.
