Warren Hills’ Mason Wester Nominated for USA Football’s Heart of a Giant Award

WARREN COUNTY, NJ – Mason Wester, a standout student-athlete from Warren Hills High School, has been nominated for the prestigious 2024 USA Football Heart of a Giant Award . Presented by the Hospital for Special Surgery and the New York Giants, this award honors high school football players across the Tri-State area who demonstrate exceptional commitment, character, teamwork, and perseverance.

Mason’s nomination highlights his remarkable dedication both on and off the field. A three-sport athlete, Wester balances his athletic commitments with being a volunteer firefighter and excelling in the classroom. His community involvement and plans to pursue a career in physical therapy showcase his passion for service and personal growth.

In his interview, Wester says, “ I motivate my teammates to be a better version of themselves everyday on the field and push to go 1 and 0 every week”.

The Heart of a Giant Award recognizes athletes like Mason, who not only perform on the gridiron but also lead by example, contributing to their communities with humility and hard work. Nominees were selected by their coaches for embodying qualities of courage, will, and character.

Voting for Week 4 nominees , which includes Mason, is open until Sunday, October 13, 2024. The nominee with the highest votes will be named the weekly finalist. Over the six-week voting process, six finalists will be chosen, each earning a $1,000 grant for their school’s football program. The grand prize winner will be awarded an additional $9,000 equipment grant, with the winning athlete and their coach honored at a New York Giants game this season.
