Stewart, who plans to attend Howard University to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Media, Communications, and Film, was chosen for her dedication to promoting diversity and inclusivity through the arts. She aims to use her education to continue making an impact within her community and beyond.

"Together with our sponsors and supporters throughout the great Garden State, we are proud to applaud this year's Areté Scholarship and Essay Contest winners," Jon F. Hanson, Chairman of the New Jersey Hall of Fame said in a news release. "Supporting the next generation in pursuing their highest potential is a vital component of the Hall of Fame's mission, and it's an honor to continue the tradition again this year."

Stewart's award is part of the Hall of Fame’s annual recognition program, which honors exceptional New Jersey students. The Areté Scholarship is named after the Greek concept of moral excellence and is awarded to students who demonstrate resilience and character despite facing challenges.

In addition to Stewart’s success, the NJHOF also announced the winners of the 2024 "Who Belongs in the New Jersey Hall of Fame" essay contest and other scholarship recipients, all of whom will be honored later this year at the Hall of Fame’s induction ceremony.
