    Cranford Radio Podcast — Cranford to Hold Free Narcan Training and Distribution 👃

    Opioid abuse is something that touches all communities. To address its impact in Cranford, the Cranford Prevention & Wellness Alliance and the Cranford Police Department are sponsoring a Narcan training and distribution event on October 15 at the Community Center. On this week’s podcast I speak with Karen Bennett of the Alliance and Capt. Matt Nazarro of the CPD to learn more about the event and why Narcan is such an important tool to prevent opioid overdose deaths.

    Rubber Ducky Race - Sunday, October 6 🦆

    These are no ordinary ducks! Not only do they float down the Rahway River, they raise money for the Hanson Park Conservancy. Adopt a duck and come cheer them on!

    When There Were Witches: An Exploration of the Salem Witch Trials - Tuesday, October 8🧙

    The Rocky Horror Picture Show - Saturday, October 12 & October 19 💋

    This 1975 cult classic film will play in the Cranford Theater starting at 10 pm. Movie goers are known for dressing as the film’s characters and acting out the dialogue as it plays on screen.

    Scarecrow Stroll Paint Out - Sunday, October 13 🖌️

    These models are happy to pose while you paint them. There are over 100 scarecrows to choose from.

    Free Narcan Training and Distribution - Tuesday, October 15 ⚕️

    The Cranford Prevention & Wellness Alliance and the Cranford Police Department will train residents on how to use Narcan to prevent opioid overdose deaths. Narcan will also be distributed to attendees. Please listen to this week’s podcast for additional details.

    Health & Wellness Fair - Saturday, October 26 🩺

    Lead and blood pressure screenings are just some of what you’ll find at the Community Center between 11 and 2.

    Union County College Foundation Scholarship Gala - Wednesday, October 30 🎓

    Harvesting Dreams is the theme of the 32nd annual scholarship gala . It takes place at The Westwood in Garwood.
