RED BANK, NJ: It couldn’t have gone better.
Yesterday, Saturday, October 5, Red Bank's annual HABcore Porchfest brought together music lovers and the local community for a day of live performances on porches across the town.
Blessed with terrific weather – sunshine and blue sky, light winds, and temperatures in the upper 70’s - the event provided the ideal setting for attendees to enjoy the musical talents of local bands while supporting a great cause.
This year's Porchfest, sponsored by the Count Basie Theatre of the Arts, featured performances by 100 bands across 29 porches and locations, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout Red Bank.
The event drew music fans from both near and far, with a shuttle bus provided
This was a complex and challenging event and the organizers; Marta Quinn, Red Bank Mayor Billy Portman, John Shepherd, Jeff MacPherson and Matt Sivo did an outstanding job working with the borough.
They worked with EZRide providing safe bike lanes, had a free shuttle van to take people from to take concert-goers from the east side of town to the west, ensuring everyone had the chance to experience the diverse range of acts.
Also on hand was the Broadwalk Bites food truck, a 50/50 drawing, Scavenger Trivia Hunt and T-shirts for sale.
Red Bank Porchfest supports local nonprofit HABcore, an organization dedicated to providing permanent, supportive and affordable housing to veterans, families with children and individuals with special needs who are experiencing homelessness in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
"We're proud to bring Red Bank Porchfest to town each year, showcasing an extraordinary lineup of talent. With a variety of genres, original songwriters, and musicians from all over, this event brings together a community of creativity and support. We look forward to growing Porchfest each year and welcoming even more artists and attendees," said Marta Quinn, HABcore’s Director of Events and Engagement.
As Porchfest continues to grow each year, it remains an essential part of Red Bank’s cultural fabric, showcasing the best of local music while supporting HABcore’s efforts to provide housing and support for those in need.
With the sun shining, music filling the air, and a community coming together, this year’s event was a reminder of the power of music to unite and uplift.
