    Two Injured in Paterson Shootout, One in Critical Condition

    PATERSON, NJ - Two men were injured in a shootout in Paterson late Saturday night, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer in Charge Isa Abbassi said.

    According to a statement, officers received reports of gunfire at approximately 11:15 p.m. in the area of Straight Street and Park Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered two male victims, both Paterson residents, suffering from gunshot wounds.

    A 33-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot injuries to his head and torso. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. The second victim, a 28-year-old man, received non-life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in stable condition after being treated at the same hospital.
