    Mahopac Man Red-Carded By Yorktown Cops Over Soccer Fight

    YORKTOWN, N.Y.— A fight at a soccer game in Yorktown has a 30-year-old Mahopac man facing charges of misdemeanor assault.

    According to YPD, the incident occurred at around 11:34 on Oct. 6, when police received a report of an altercation at Navajo Fields in Jefferson Valley. Multiple officers responded to the scene.

    "A fight allegedly broke out between two teams of players during a soccer game," Yorktown Police said in a press release. "Officers interviewed a victim who alleged that the defendant punched him in the head causing a laceration."

    The defendant was arrested at the scene, processed, and arraigned before Judge Raniolo. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim and the defendant was released on his own recognizance. He was due back in Yorktown Justice Court court on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
