PHILLIPSBURG, NJ - Caitlyn Jansen, a 6-foot senior outside hitter, spiked a career-high 12 kills in a 2-0 win over Warren Hills on Tuesday before erupting for 16 kills in a 2-1 win over Hackettstown on Thursday to help the Stateliners to back-to-back wins for the first time this season as well as victories in three of their last four matches.
.Jansen leads the ‘Liners in kills for the season with 90 in 27 sets played and also has 13 blocks.
“Caitlyn would have been a three-year starter but injuries curtailed that,” Phillipsburg coach Ellie Hrunka said. “Still, she has developed and grown so much from her freshman season that she has the ability to play at the next level. Her contributions this year will be greatly missed next season and I’m so happy to have had her as part of our program.”
Honorable mention – Hannah Burdge, Sara Ellison, Alexa Megjuric (girls volleyball), Emma Butler, Jackie Miller, Sophia Remian (field hockey); Evan James, Caden Heaney (boys soccer); Aeden Hywel, Luke Hywell, Felix Matos, Matthew Scerbo Jr. (football).
