    The Lakes at Darlington Have Record Breaking Summer

    MAHWAH, NJ – County Executive Jim Tedesco, the Board of Commissioners, and the County Parks Department proudly announce that the 2024 summer swimming season at Darlington County Park was a record year for the popular summer destination.

    In total Darlington County Park saw a 70 percent increase in attendance in 2024 with over 152,000 patrons visiting the park this summer. Darlington Lake’s popular attraction, the Wibit Splash Zone, also broke attendance records with over 27,000 patrons braving the water obstacle course at the Darlington Upper Lake, an 87 percent increase from 2023.

    “We are thrilled to see The Lakes at Darlington continue to growth in popularity each and every summer,” said County Executive Jim Tedesco. “This record-breaking season is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our County Parks Department staff, who ensure that visitors have a wonderful family friendly experience. Their efforts have made Darlington County Park one of North Jersey’s premier summer attractions, and we look forward to even more successful summer 2025.”

    “The Lakes at Darlington provide our residents and guests with a special and enjoyable way to experience the outdoors, and the record-breaking attendance this season shows how much our community cherishes these spaces,” said Bergen County Commissioner Vice Chairwoman Mary Amoroso. “We’re committed to continue making investments in our parks, ensuring they stay accessible, well-maintained, and filled with opportunities for families to make lasting memories.”

    Swimming at Darlington County Park is open annually on weekends from Memorial Day Weekend through June 30th and then daily through Labor Day. However, this year, the Parks Department opened daily operation a week early as a measure to help residents beat the heat during an excessive June heatwave.
