    Nutley Hanger and Bulky Rigid Plastic Recycling Day

    Commissioner Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli and the Department of Public Works announced that Hanger and Bulky Rigid Plastic Recycling Day will take place on Sunday, October 13 , at Municipal Parking Lot 9, located at 537 Franklin Avenue from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM .

    This event offers residents the chance to responsibly recycle items that are not normally collected during regular weekly recycling pickups , including:

    1. Hangers : Metal, plastic, and wooden hangers from closets can be recycled.
    2. Rigid Plastics : Large, bulky plastic items such as garbage cans, resin lawn furniture, laundry baskets, and children’s outdoor play equipment will be accepted.

    We know these types of items are difficult to dispose of properly, since they aren’t collected with our regular recycling and this event provides a convenient solution for residents to recycle these materials and contribute to our efforts to reduce landfill waste.

    Recycle Coach App

    The Township of Nutley has collaborated with Recycle Coach to offer residents a valuable resource for understanding the proper disposal methods for different types of household waste they generate.

    Additionally, the app allows users to access waste collection schedules and set reminders for pick-up times.

    This user-friendly tool, available for free on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store, aims to enhance residents' waste management experience.
