MOUNT LAUREL, NJ – To provide comprehensive care for children with autism, the A BA Centers of New Jersey has opened its first autism care center in the state in Mount Laurel. The Autism Care Center will provide diagnostic and autism care services for children in Burlington County and the greater South Jersey area.

According to the National Autism Association , autism affects one in 36 children and is typically diagnosed before the age of three.  Autism “impacts the normal development of the brain in the areas of social interaction, communication skills, and cognitive function. Individuals with autism typically have difficulties in verbal and non-verbal communication, social interactions, and leisure or play activities,” according to the association.

ABA provides applied behavior analysis therapy services to children with autism through a play-based approach rooted in positive reinforcement.  While families of autistic children often face long wait lists to receive care services for their children, ABA says that they typically can start therapy for a child within 47 days from the time initial contact is made with the organization.

“The services that we provide are helping more than just that child on the spectrum; we are helping the entire home and the ripple effect of the work that we do here permeates throughout the entire community,” stated Kadonah Coburn, Executive Director of the ABA Centers of New Jersey clinic in Mount Laurel. “Whatever is needed, there is a team of people here that can assist the families in any way that their child needs.”

At a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony, ABA Centers celebrated the opening of the center located at 15000 Commerce Parkway, Suite C in Mount Laurel Township.

This autism care clinic offers an expansive 13,000 square feet for individualized autism therapy services to take place. The strategically designed center provides children with a vibrant, immersive, and engaging environment to receive therapy lessons that will help them navigate life on the spectrum and teach them the tools to achieve a robust and fulfilling future.
