    CHATHAM, NJ – Junior midfielder Alex Donoghue continued her October scoring spree for Chatham in leading the Cougars to a 7-0 girls soccer win vs. Whippany Park in the opening round of the 2024 Morris County Tournament on Wednesday at Haas Field.

    Donoghue produced three goals and an assist in the highest-scoring game of the season for 3rd-seeded Chatham (8-4), which will take a five-game winning streak into the MCT quarterfinal round on Wednesday when it plays host to No. 6 seed Mountain Lakes (11-1) at Haas. Chatham has won the last three MCT championships.

    Donoghue boosted her season scoring totals to seven goals and three assists, including six goals and an assist in the three games since the calendar turned to October.

    Senior midfielder Lauren Tracey notched two goals and junior striker Amanda Thornton registered her team-leading 11th goal and was credited with three assists vs. Whippany Park (6-5-1). Thornton now has five assists.

    Junior midfielder Ava Paone produced her first career goal for Chatham, which received two assists from freshman midfielder Lucy Arps and one from sophomore midfielder Sophie D'Egidio .
