    Kinnelon Edges Out Whippany Park in Physical First Round of Morris County Boys Soccer Tourny

    WHIPPANY, NJ - During the first round of the Morris County Boys Soccer Tournament, Kinnelon High School secured a 1-0 victory over Whippany Park.

    The first half saw both teams struggling to break through each other's defenses, with neither side able to score. Kinnelon goalkeeper Jason Osterman and Whippany Park's Conrad Geraghty were solid between the posts, keeping the score 0-0 at the break.

    The game’s lone goal came early in the second half when Kinnelon's Joseph Mendy found himself in the right spot to score off an assist from Leo Dimitrakiou, giving Kinnelon the advantage. Mendy’s tally was enough for the Colts, as their defense, anchored by Osterman, shut out the high-powered Whippany Park offense.

    Whippany Park applied pressure throughout the match but was unable to capitalize on their opportunities. Osterman finished with 8 saves, delivering a standout performance in net for Kinnelon. Geraghty recorded 5 saves for Whippany Park,

    On Monday, October 14th, Whippay Park High School varsity boys' soccer will have their annual Senior Night ceremony. The occasion will be hosted by Paulie G’s Deli of Whippany. The Whippany Park JV boys soccer team will be playing a game at 4 PM followed by the senior night festivities starting at 6 PM at Whippany Park High School.
