HS Girls Tennis: Rutherford Rallies by Hasbrouck Heights

HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ – Rutherford won two tiebreakers to lift it to a 3-2 win over Hasbrouck Heights in an NJIC Meadowlands girls tennis match at the Neal McCarthy Courts at Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday.

Rutherford’s Arrianna Amante rallied past Isabella Guida in Third Singles, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7, to capture one match. The First Doubles team of Jeel Kakadia and Angelica Del Busto defeated Sarah Cunningham and Paige Sonzogni, 6-4, 3-6, 10-7, in the other to give the Bulldogs the hard-earned victory.

Hasbrouck Heights Evelynn Kwak defeated Margaret Turso 6-0, 6-0, and Anna Christopoulus neat Casssidy Ovarsi 6-1, 6-0 for the Lady Aviators two wins.

Hasbrouck Heights fell to 8-5 overall and 5-3 in the Meadowlands with the loss. Rutherford improved to 9-4, 6-2 with the win.
