    Boys Soccer: Dayton Falls to Gov. Livingston, 2-1, in Union County Tournament

    BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – Gov. Livingston rallied from a first-half deficit to advance in the preliminary round of the Union County Tournament with a 2-1 boys soccer victory over Dayton on Thursday.

    Jacob Smiatacz scored to give 15th-seeded Dayton (6-5-1) a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the game, and that advantage held up through halftime. Smiatacz has six goals this season.

    But Gov.. Livingston (1-10-2) came back with second-half goals by Jacob Gross and Gui Gomes to advance. Though GL had come into the game winless, the Highlanders were actually the higher seed, at No. 10. They will play seventh-seeded Union in the next round on Tuesday.
