Passaic Valley Triumphs in Overtime Against Wayne Hills in Thrilling 20-14 Victory

LITTLE FALLS, NJ - The Passaic Valley Hornets' football team edged out Wayne Hills 20-14 on Thursday. PV rallied from a 14-point deficit, scoring twice in the fourth quarter to force overtime, and ultimately secured the win with a dramatic 31-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Bagnuolo to Vincent Berardi.
The game remained scoreless through the first quarter, but the Patriots took control in the second, putting up 14 unanswered points. However, the Hornets refused to back down. In the fourth quarter, Passaic Valley came alive with a nine-yard touchdown run by Nick Huliev, followed by a four-yard touchdown pass from Bagnuolo to A'Meire Simpson, tying the game at 14.
Overtime saw PV's defense hold strong, and the offense seized the opportunity with Berardi's game-winning catch. Bagnuolo had an impressive performance, throwing for 205 yards and two touchdowns, while Huliev led the Hornets' ground game with 50 rushing yards and one score.
A'Meire Simpson dominated on both sides of the ball, registering 10 tackles and a crucial touchdown reception. The Hornets' defense, led by Simpson and Dante Benvenuti, played a vital role in the comeback, forcing two fumbles and holding Wayne Hills scoreless after halftime.
This victory lifts Passaic Valley to a 4-2 record in the SFC Patriot White Division, while Wayne Hills falls to 4-3.
