    HS Football: Hasbrouck Heights to Face Wood-Ridge in Week 7

    On Friday, October 18th, Hasbrouck Heights will travel to Wood-Ridge to face off for the first time since 2011.

    SECAUCUS, NJ – Finally, it is official. The North Jersey Interscholastic Conference announced the schedule on Saturday evening for the NJIC Playoffs, and crossover games for Week 7 and 8, and what has been rumored, but not confirmed, is now official.

    On Friday, October 18th,  Hasbrouck Heights will travel to Wood-Ridge to face off for the first time since 2011. The past few years, rumors that the two would face each other in the crossover weeks, only for the scheduling to work out differently in the end.

    Wood-Ridge will head into the game with a 4-2-1 record, while Hasbrouck Heights heads in at 4-2. Aside from the rivalry between the neighboring towns, the game also has implications in seeding for the NJSIAA playoffs for both teams.

    In week 8, Hasbrouck Heights will host Waldwick/Midland Park, while Wood-Ridge will travel to Cresskill/Emerson.

    In the NJIC playoffs, which features the four division winners, Colonial Division winner Becton Regional will travel to play Meadowlands Division winner Butler. The other matchup will feature Liberty Division winner Glen Rock will face to play at St. Mary (Rutherford.)

    The winners will face off the following week for the NJIC championship. The losing teams will face each other in the Week 8 consolation round.

    Cresskill/Emerson (4-2) at Waldwick/Midland Park (3-3)

    Lyndhurst (5-1) at Pompton Lakes (3-3)

    Elmwood Park (2-4) at Rutherford (4-2)

    Lodi (2-4) at Manchester Regional (3-4)

    Garfield (2-4) at North Arlington (0-6)

    New Milford (4-2) at Park Ridge (4-1-1)

    Saddle Brook (3-3) at Weehawken (2-4)

    Hawthorne (1-5) at Bogota (1-6)

    Secaucus (1-5) at Wallington (1-6)

    As there are 25 teams in NJIC, Palisades Park (0-6) is the odd team out in Week 7, and will seek to find an independent game. In Week 8 Garfield will need to find an opponent.
