Hanover Park Footballs' Latest Win Keeps them Undefeated for the Season

EAST HANOVER, NJ - The Hanover Park football team continued their undefeated season on Thursday night, overpowering Jefferson 42-7. Hanover Park improved to 6-0 while Jefferson fell to 1-6 on the season.

The Hornets wasted no time setting the tone, with quarterback Joey Borrello leading the charge. Borrello opened the scoring with a 7-yard touchdown run, followed by a 3-yard touchdown pass to Joey Tantawi, putting Hanover Park up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Hornets extended their lead as Luke Morgese broke free for a 16-yard touchdown run. Jefferson responded with their only score of the game, a 17-yard touchdown pass from Connor Consiglio to Jason Post. However, Hanover Park quickly regained control, with Borrello adding another touchdown on a 25-yard run, followed by a 1-yard plunge from Joey Filippone, sending the teams into halftime with Hanover Park leading 35-7.

Hanover Park's defense kept Jefferson in check throughout the second half. The only score after the break came on a 39-yard touchdown run by Dante Rosato, sealing the 42-7 victory. Jefferson's Consiglio threw three interceptions and managed just 176 passing yards on 17 completions out of 37 attempts.

Borrello was efficient through the air and on the ground, completing all 7 of his passes for 124 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 83 yards and two scores on nine carries. Hanover Park racked up 214 rushing yards as a team, with contributions from several players, including Rosato (36 yards, 1 TD) and Filippone (35 yards, 1 TD).
