    HS Cross Country: Hasbrouck Heights Sweeps Bergen County Group D Titles on Senior Day

    The Hasbrouck Heights cross-country team swept both the girls and boys titles at the Bergen County Group championships on Saturday morning at Darlington Park in Mahwah. The meet coincided with the Aviators' Senior Day.

    MAHWAH, NJ - A sweep. That is what the Hasbrouck Heights cross-country team accomplished at the Bergen County Group championships on Saturday morning at Darlington Park in Mahwah.

    First place in the boys' and girls' Group D team competitions. Check. First place individual finishes in both the boys and girls Group D races. Check.

    The wins were made doubly sweet as they coincided with the Aviators' Senior Day, where the team honored 14 runners for their dedication to the cross-country program.

    The Hasbrouck Heights boys team, led by a 1-2 finish from Aidan Morrow and Ryan Ober, captured the Group D boys title by a score of 45-62 over New Milford. Bogota was third with 71 points, while the Emerson/Park-Ridge co-op was fourth with 103 points. Saddle Brook (128), Cresskill (173), Waldwick (176), Palisades Park (179) and Ridgefield (214) rounded out the scoring.

    Kyle von Seidelmann was 10 th for the Aviators boys team, followed by Connor Ng (15), Vincent Zou (17 th ) rounding out the top five. Max Mazza finished 19 th and Neil Donnelly rounded out the boys contingent with a 24 th place finish.

    The girls' team finished 1-2-3 as Mackenzie Bua, Lexi Powers, and Nina Castellanos crossed the finish line in order. Mae Veliky was 9 th , and Jazlynn Mora was 11 th to round out the top five. Silvia Andrade (14 th ) and Lena Kaiser (24 th ) were the rest of the Lady Aviators contingent.

    The girls captured the D team title by a score of 24-37 over Bogota, with Waldwick with 83 points third and Ridgefield fourth with 96 points.
