    Football: Bridgewater-Raritan Loses, 35-10, to Westfield

    WESTFIELD, NJ -- Westfield scored four touchdowns in the first half and went on to a 35-10 football victory over Bridgewater-Raritan on Saturday afternoon.

    No Bridgewater-Raritan football team has been able to win in Westfield since 2010.

    Jordan Walsh ran for one touchdown and passed for another for Westfield (4-3) in the first quarter. Bridgewater-Raritan (3-5) drew closer in the second quarter on a 24-yard TD pass from Declan Kurdyla to Nick DiEsso and an extra point by Joe Squicciarini.

    But the Blue Devils scored twice more before halftime on a pair of touchdown runs for a 28-7 lead.

    Squicciarini kicked a 32-yard field goal with 7:52 left in the third quarter for the Panthers. It was the junior's fifth field goal this season.

    Westfield's Ben Brodo returned an interception for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

    Bridgewater-Raritan will host Phillipsburg in its final game of the regular season next Friday at 7:15 p.m. The Panthers are still in contention for a North Jersey, Group 5 playoff berth when the post-season begins on Nov. 1.

    Westfield will be at Ridge next Friday night.
