It was a tough game for the Bloomfield High football team, which fell to a good Livingston squad, 42-14, on Oct. 18, in Livingston.

The Bengals will take a 3-5 record into its regular season finale, when it visits West Orange, on Oct. 25, in a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Bloomfield will probably not qualify for the NJSIAA playoffs, but should be competing in a regional cross over game, in early November. We will know much more on the post-season schedule after next week's game at West Orange.

Livingston improved to 4-3 with the victory. The Lancers are in the midst of trying to seal up a playoff spot, and have a big game coming up on Oct. 26, when it concludes the regular season at Montclair High School.

Livingston's rushing game accounted for over 200 yards. John Maiello rushed for 107 yards and scored twice and Abel Paul had 100 yards on the ground and had a touchdown. Livingston quarterback Noah Ramos had an excellent game, passing for 227 yards and three scores.

The Bengals got a good game from Mekhi Field, who rushed for 72 yards, on five carries, and scored a touchdown. James Fields scored the other touchdown for Bloomfield.

Michael Mickens had two catches to lead the Bloomfield receivers.

On defense, Tyler Frantantoni and Sebastian Urena had good games for Bloomfield, with each man leading the way with five tackles. Jo'elle Urdanivia had four tackles and was also 2-for-2 in point after kicks. Urdanivia has been a very consistent kicker for the Bengals this season, with a nearly perfect percentage on conversions.

Aiden Ruiz, Alejandro Valencia and Aaron Varner also played well on defense for the Bengal
