JERSEY CITY, NJ- At its most recent October meeting, the Jersey City Municipal Council approved a resolution authorizing the City to apply for and accept the FY 2025 Safe and Secure Communities Grant from the New Jersey Department of Public Safety Office of the Attorney General.

The funds, totaling $115,490, come with a local match of $220.800, and would cover the salaries of eight police officers which include the coverage fringe benefits “that are already absorbed by the City,” Emergency Management Director Greg Kierce told the City Council.
