Richmond Animal League to create “Kat’s Corner” in memory of late radio host, animal supporter Kat Simons
Richmond Animal League is creating a permanent tribute to one of its biggest community supporters, longtime WTVR-FM (Mix 98.1 and formerly Lite 98) mid-day radio host Kat Simons. Simons, who passed away last Friday, was a servant supporter of many local causes, but shelter pets were near and dear to her heart.

Remains found in Chesterfield could be part of family burial plot
After a road crew discovered human remains in May, Chesterfield County officials began looking for descendants of those buried in what appears to be a family graveyard. “We’ve heard from about a dozen people so far, and have heard from a couple of people who we do think are direct descendants,” said Lauren Gryctko, an archaeologist with Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson — a company researching the site.
