High temperatures in the 90s forecast for central Pa. this weekend
The National Weather Service is calling for more weather in the low to mid-90s and possible thunderstorms throughout central Pennsylvania this weekend. The Harrisburg area is expected to have a high temperature near 92 on Friday with a 50% chance of precipitation after 1 p.m. Other places in central Pa., such as Lancaster and York will have heat indexes around 100 on Friday, the NWS said.

On Friday at 3:31 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated heat advisory in effect until Saturday at 8 p.m. for Berks, Lehigh, Northampton and Bucks counties. "Heat index values up to 102 degrees," comments the weather service. "Very warm and humid conditions tonight will offer little relief from the heat."

The Monroeville Fireworks show went on as scheduled despite rain innundating the viewing area moments before the show was set to begin. As the rain rolled in, many viewers rolled out, leaving the "At Home" parking lot, where we were watching from, just as the fireworks began to light up the water-logged sky.
