    Taunton Eats: Old Colony History Museum, Berkley Beer Company team up for special event

    We've compiled a list of meal deals, special events, and mouth-watering offerings at local eateries and markets to consider when planning your next night on the town, or a quick stop for a tasty treat.

    This week, the Old Colony History Museum and Berkley Beer Company have teamed up for a very special event, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the Liberty & Union flag. Plus, we've got all kinds of fall flavors, from drinks to dessert fries, as well as a Halloween family paint night, and even a horror movie night.

    Old Colony History Museum, Berkley Beer Company team up for ‘Tavern Night at the OCHM’

    Something special is brewing for the 250th anniversary of the Liberty & Union flag.

    The Old Colony History Museum, 66 Church Green, Taunton, and Berkley Beer Company are collaborating for “ Tavern Night at the OCHM: Before the Flag, There was Beer .”

    On Friday, Oct. 18, the OCHM gallery will be transformed into a 1774-inspired tavern.

    Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the raising of the Liberty & Union flag with the debut of Berkley Beer Company’s limited-edition Liberty Ale.

    You don’t have to show up in Colonial costume, but it’s not discouraged either, according to an announcement about the event on OCHM’s Facebook page .

    Pre-sale tickets are for OCHM members, and tickets for the general public go on sale on Friday, Sept. 6.

    Nytia’s Soul Kitchen pop-up at Talisa’s On Main

    At Talisa’s On Main, 65 Main St., Taunton, Nytia’s Soul Kitchen will be holding a pop-up on Saturday, Sept. 14, and Sunday, Sept. 15.

    Join them for dinner on Sept. 14, and brunch on Sept. 15.

    Pop-up chef Ty will be serving up soul classics, and twists on traditional favorites.

    Pet of the Week: Husky Bryce is sweet, enjoys long walks

    Pumpkin spice lattes at The Neighbors Coffee & Co.

    The Neighbors Coffee & Co., 32 Weir St., Taunton, is putting a little something extra special into their pumpkin spice.

    Try their pumpkin spice lattes , with your choice of milk, and their house-made pumpkin sauce .

    Available hot or iced, and you can add the pumpkin sauce to their other beverages as well.

    New fall dessert specials at The Poutine Peddlers

    The Poutine Peddlers, 239 Broadway, Taunton, have got some new fall dessert specials for September.

    Try the campfire fries: crispy fries coated with cinnamon and sugar, topped with gooey marshmallow, crushed graham crackers, and a chocolate drizzle.

    Or check out the apple pie fries: crispy fries coated with cinnamon and sugar, topped with fresh tart and sweet cooked down apples, a dollop of whipped cream, and a caramel sauce drizzle.

    They’ve also got fried Oreos.

    Halloween family paint night at Brack’s Grille & Tap

    Brack’s Grille & Tap, 2097 Bay St., Taunton, is hosting a Halloween family paint night on Sunday, Oct. 20.

    Led by Create With Kath, the event begins at 2 p.m.

    Guests can take home what they paint.

    Horror movie night at Star Drive-In

    The Star Drive-In, 205 Myricks St., East Taunton, is hosting a horror movie night on Saturday, Oct. 26, showing “ All Boys Cry Wolf .”

    The movie begins at sunset, and it’s rated PG-13.

    Outside food and beverages are not permitted. The Star Drive-In’s menu and movie treats will be available.

    Guests are welcome to bring blankets or folding chairs.

    Flavor of the month at Dough Licious Pizza

    A name hasn’t been announced yet, but September’s flavor of the month has arrived at Dough Licious Pizza, 539 Berkley St., Berkley.

    It’s made with pizza dough, corn bread, hot dogs, kielbasa, brown sugar, and a sprinkle of three-blend pizza cheese and melted butter.

    Dough Licious Pizza said on their Facebook page that they’d be announcing the flavor name soon.

    Shipyard Pumpkinhead now on tap at Barrels & Boards

    Barrels & Boards, 1285 Broadway, Raynham, is serving up fall flavors as well.

    Shipyard Pumpkinhead has returned, and is now on tap there.

    Fall drinks menu at Coffee Milano

    Coffee Milano, 58 Center St., Middleboro has rolled out the fall drinks menu .

    Try the white chocolate pumpkin latte, or a hot or cold apple cider chai.

    The caramel apple pie cold brew is brown sugar cinnamon gingerbread cold brew, topped with caramel apple sweet cream.

    Fall sweet cream flavors are pumpkin pie and caramel apple.

    Fall treats at Traditions Bakeshop

    Over at Traditions Bakeshop, 83 Winthrop St., Rehoboth, they’ve got a lineup of fall treats .

    Check out their pumpkin snickerdoodles, brown butter bourbon pecan cookies, fig cookies, apple cider whoopie pies, pumpkin whoopie pies, apple pie cupcakes, and pumpkin muffins with cream cheese filling.

    Malassadas and linguiça, egg and cheese on a bolo at Fat Cousins

    Fat Cousins, 166 County St., Lakeville, will have some extra special Portuguese treats this weekend.

    On Sunday, Sept. 8, they’ll have malassadas, as well as linguiça, egg and cheese on a bolo , from 9 a.m. to noon, or until they’re sold out.

    Malassadas are $2 each, or $10 for half a dozen. The malassadas have a limit of one dozen per person.

    This is for walk-ins only, and only at their Lakeville location. Not available for delivery, and not available via phone or online ordering. You’ll just have to be there!
