TAUNTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Commonwealth's first snowflakes of Tuesday's nor'easter started to fall in the Taunton area at around 6 a.m.

Forecasters said that with the storm's shift to the south, the southeastern part of the region is expected to take the biggest hit with more than nine inches of snow possible.

WBZ NewsRadio's James Rojas was in Taunton talking with people braving the snow. One resident said the snow was wet and heavy and accumulating quickly. "When I got up at 6 o'clock there was nothing on the road," he said. "I left for work 15 minutes later and the snow was already sticking to the ground."

Another said it was typical of New England weather to go from warm temperatures over the weekend to a winter storm in just a day or so. "It's so weird how the weather was 60 degrees on Saturday," she said.

    WBZ's James Rojas (@JamesRojasMMJ) reports.
