TAUNTON, Mass. (WPRI) — A 1-month-old is recovering thanks to first responders in Taunton Monday night.

Crews were called to a home near Union Street for a report of a baby that was not breathing.

A police officer was first on scene and gave the baby a series of back thrusts before a fire lieutenant gave her a light run on the chest and cheek.

The baby then opened her eyes and let out a little cry, officials said, before she was taken to the hospital.

It appears that medication had obstructed the baby’s airway, according to officials.
