In a tragic turn of events during the Nantucket Triathlon held on Saturday, a participant was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive in the waters off Jetties Beach. According to reports by NBC Boston, the Nantucket Fire Department responded to an emergency call at approximately 7 a.m. after lifeguards noticed the swimmer was unresponsive.
