Phish Dusts Off “The Connection” & Continues Thread Of ‘Evolve’ Songs At Mansfield Closer [Videos]
It was an evening of connections last night in Mansfield, MA where Phish finished its first weekend run of the band’s 2024 summer tour. In addition to the first performance of Undermind rarity “The Connection” in five years, the evening saw Trey Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Page McConnell, and Mike Gordon connect for some of the most significant and satisfying improvisation of the weekend.
Track Improvement Program Continues on Red Line Braintree Branch in September
BOSTON – The MBTA announces its Red Line Braintree branch service will be suspended for 24 days to allow for improvements. MBTA’s Track Improvement Program continues on its Red Line Braintree branch from September 6th to 29th. Crews will work on repairs to 18 miles of track from JFK/UMass to Braintree. This work is expected to result in removing 20 speed restrictions in order to improve travel time. During this service suspension, no Red Line trains will service North Quincy, Wollaston, Quincy Center, Quincy Adams, and Braintree.
Wayland Weston Rowing Says “So Long” to 9-Year Director Mike Baker
Like many of the rowers he has coached over the last 9 years, Wayland Weston Rowing Association’s Program Director Mike Baker is going to college. An email sent yesterday to friends of WWRA said that in late August Mike will be leaving WWRA to take on the role of Boatman at MIT Crew. In case you are not a rower, the Owl assures you that Boatman is a critical role on any crew team, overseeing boathouse operations for all of college’s rowing teams. I can still remember Dave, the Boatman at Wellesley Crew, without whom our team would have been a jumbled mass of boats, oars and trailers.
