    Crime Stoppers seek details in Taylorville animal cruelty case

    TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — Christian County Crime Stoppers are looking for tips regarding a cat who was shot in the neck in Taylorville.

    It happened on Sunday near East Oak and North Snodgrass Streets. Crime Stoppers said the cat seemed okay when it was seen in the morning, but by the afternoon, a .22 caliber bullet wound was found in its neck. However, no gunfire was reported.

    Crime Stoppers said the cat is expected to recover.

    Meanwhile, they’re asking that anyone with more information on the incident reach out to them by calling 217-824-9100, texting 274637, or submitting online through christiancountycrimestoppers.org . Crime Stoppers tipsters are always completely anonymous and may receive cash rewards up to $1,000 for details that lead to an arrest.
