    Foreign substance temporarily closes local pool

    TAZEWELL, VA (WVNS) — A local swimming pool in Tazewell County was temporarily closed for cleaning after a baggie with a foreign substance was discovered in the pool.

    According to a post on the Tazewell Virginia Police Department’s Facebook page, members of the Tazewell Police Department responded to Lincolnshire Park in the North Tazewell area of Virginia around 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

    Suspects wanted in theft at a Little League field in Raleigh County

    The police department was called due to a foreign substance in a plastic baggie being found in the swimming pool at Lincolnshire Park. Once members of law enforcement arrived on scene, they took the baggie with the foreign substance into their possession from a Lincolnshire Park employee.

    Due to the incident, out of caution Lincolnshire Park authorities chose to close and clean the pool to ensure the safety of the public.

    According to the Tazewell Police Department, the incident remains under investigation.
